Apple Picking at Baugher’s Orchards and Farms

Image
Looking for something fun to do this fall in Maryland? How about going apple picking at Baugher’s Orchards and Farms in Westminster ! Baugher’s is right off of MD-140 headed towards Taneytown. Baugher’s is an iconic spot for family fun all year round. My personal favorite time to go is in the early fall months when apple picking begins. When you arrive, you are met with so much to see and do. There are play areas for children including a school bus full of corn, a bubble station, occasional face painting and a nostalgic play set that has been there since before I was a little girl! In order to get to the apple orchard, you take a quick tractor ride and see the beautiful scenery of the farm! Depending on when you go, there will be certain sections of apples to pick. When I went, we were allowed to pick CrimsonCrisp as well as Fuji apples. CrimsonCrisp’s are a firm, crisp apple with a tart and sweet flavor. These type of apples are wonderful for baking, which is what I used them for! Fu...

Get to Know Me!

Hi there, welcome to my travel blog!  My name is Emily, and I am currently a junior at Loyola University in Baltimore, Md. I’ve always been a Maryland girl! I grew up in a small town in Carroll County called Hampstead. Nothing really happens here, but it is a great community with lots of rural beauty! Although I have grown up in such a small town, nothing has stopped me from getting out and exploring my state and neighboring states! Growing up in Maryland has left me with a love and appreciation for farm land, as well as the city life (which Maryland has both of!) From the cornfields of Western Maryland, to the lively cities of Baltimore and Annapolis, or even catching waves in Ocean City, we will cover it all! If you are in the DMV area, looking for food recommendations, stories of personal experience, fun activities and so much more, you have come to the right place!
