If you live in the DMV, and surrounding areas, you have most definitely heard of, or visited, the sweetest place on Earth, Hershey Park! I had the pleasure of taking a trip to the glorious Hershey, PA this year and knew I had to share my experience! Hershey Park, for those who do not know, is a large amusement park in Hershey Pennsylvania. It is the perfect place for the entire family to enjoy. No matter your age, there is something for everyone. During your visit to Hershey, PA you can experience everything from the most thrilling roller coasters, to luxurious spa treatments, endless delicious restaurants and bars, the cutest boutiques, unforgettable outdoor concerts, and so much more.

History
We all know that the icon Hershey name is associated with the most delicious chocolate. Milton Hershey is the man who started it all in 1905 in the very town that Hershey, PA is now known as. Milton was born in 1857 to Frankie and Henry Hershey. Despite all of the moves that their family endured and only competing his education through the fourth grade, Milton created a worldwide legacy in his chocolate brand. He went on to doing a candy making apprenticeship which led him to later establishing his own candy business first in Philadelphia. After his first attempt failed, he moved back to his hometown and created the Lancaster Caramel Company which turned out to be a success. Around the early 1900’s Milton began creating a formula for his iconic milk chocolate that we now know and love today. In 1903, he began constructing his chocolate manufacturing plant which is now the largest chocolate plant in the world!Things to do in Hershey
My friends and I took the short trip to Hershey, PA in August of this year, and I have a to say it was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken! We decided to book an Airbnb right in the heart of downtown Hershey so that everything was accessible to us, best decision ever! We were in walking distance of the amazing restaurants that Hershey has to offer including The Mill in Hershey which is a cozy bar with incredible food, Houlihan’s Restaurant and Bar, The Chocolatier, which is inside the park, as well as Iberian Lounge inside of the Hershey Hotel. The Hershey theme park was the star of the show for my friends and I. If you are an amusement park lover, Hershey offers thrilling coasters such as The Great Bear (my personal favorite), Candymonium, which is the longest coaster in the park, as well as some classic wooden coasters like The Comet which is the oldest! There is also non-coaster rides like the new Twizzlers Twisted Gravity, a large swing that takes you up 137 feet! As well as kid friendly areas, and a water park! There is truly fun for everyone.

Pricing
Hershey offers deals all throughout the year, so waiting until there is a sale is what I personally recommend. When I went in late August, tickets were priced at $50 for park entry. Currently, since it is off season, you can purchase tickets for the summer at a discounted rate. The normal price of a 1-day summer pass is around $90. The current price online is $44.99 so if you’re wanting to go this doing summer, get your tickets now! There are also group ticket options available to make family entry a bit cheaper.
I really enjoyed my time in Hershey, PA this past summer and I cannot wait to go again next year!
