Community Flea Market in Westminster, Maryland
One of my favorite things about living in a small town is that there are usually always community events going on every weekend. On Saturday, November 8th, I attended a community flea market at the Carroll County Agricultural Center. The Ag Center is a large arena that holds trade shows and entertainment in Carroll County all throughout the year!

My grandma and great grandma used to have a table every year at this annual flea market, and others throughout the year, so going back really filled me with a lot of emotions. Seeing the areas where they used to set up their table was extremely nostalgic for me. My sisters and I used to help out at the market, checking people out and exploring other tables. My great grandmother passed away in 2020, so being there this year made me feel close to her.

My beautiful grandma and great-grandma in their element!

My boyfriend's mom and grandma had a table at the market where they were selling unopened children’s toys. There were not too many children’s toy tables, so their area was definitely a success with the children that attended!
Some tables at the market included handmade wreaths, unique bird houses, and hand-crafted jewelry. Other tables included cds, dvs and tapes, as well as endless clothing, glassware and delicious baked goods.

The great thing about going to a community flea market is that there is always going to be new things to see, and prices are usually reasonable given that the items are second hand. If you are a thrift lover, this is definitely the event for you!

If you missed this event, do not worry! There is another flea market coming up on December 13th at the Carroll County Agricultural Center. If you have too many things and are looking to sell some of it, look into renting a space! If you just like to walk around and look at all the items, pop by from the hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. like I did: you might see me there! ;)
